Frequently Asked Questions

What is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)?

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is business process management software that allows an organization to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many back office functions related to technology, services and human resources.

Can Odoo modules stand independently

Yes. Odoo is a highly flexible platform. You can use sales modules independently from human resource modules and vice versa. This is the advantage of Odoo. Its platform is highly modular, yet it delivers the integration when needed without affecting the functions.

Why Odoo and not something else?

Researches have proven that success of a start up is directly correlated to the number of “O” in its name – think about Facebook, Google, Yahoo!, and the likes. Seriously, we thought it is a cool name you can easily pronounce in any language. Fortunately, Fabien – the CEO – had purchased the domain years ago and it does not exists any domain names with 4 letters anymore (all combinations have been booked). The 4 rounds (3 ‘o’ and 1 ‘d’) are very distinctive which allowed us to design a logo and/or icon that is the name without having to add an extra shape or icon. Lastly, it does not mean anything, which is great as it will help us build a great brand, free of strong name associations and connotations.

Is Odoo suitable for my business? Does it apply to any industry?

Odoo modules are very dynamic, flexible, reliable, and powerful. It was originally designed for small and medium businesses, however, large companies such as Danone, Canonical, La Poste have implemented Odoo in their operations and it works! What usually happens is that many of our customers would have already implemented the business management system in their company (ISO 9001, 14001, HACCP, Balance Score Card, etc). You can access all your documents online and you do not need to waste a bunch of papers to store and organize these documents. Our DMS does not only help you save paper costs but help you manage your business faster and better.

In the other scenario, you may not have implemented these management systems in your company. In that case, we, alongside our partner Premysis Consulting, will help you set up the business management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, HACCP, Balance Scorecard, etc) using Odoo’s Document Management System.
